Support and counselling services
Hiv Finland offers free of charge support and counselling for those living with HIV positive status and their close ones such as partners, parents, siblings and friends. We offer our support and counselling services on face-to-face get-togethers, Skype, chat and phone calls. You can contact us anonymously and confidentially. You will get from us up-to-date and accurate information about HIV.

Peer support:
People living with HIV positive status can share their experiences and challenges concerning living with HIV, it’s possible to get peer support by sharing life experiences and supporting each other.

Hiv Finland organizes conjoint events to all people living with HIV such as women, men, men who have sex with me, youths, senior citizens, families and foreigners.

Peer support meetings are also given all over Finland in major cities such as Tampere, Turku and Oulu.
We respect everyone’s privacy and it’s not necessary to be a member in order to partake.
All gatherings are published on our website from which it’s possible to find out details.

Support discussions:
You have the opportunity for a one-on-one conversation with one of Hiv Finland’s staff. You can do it via phone call, Skype or have a meeting either in our premises or somewhere else.

You have the opportunity to chat confidentially and anonymously with our staff or volunteers. Online chat is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. being monitored by our staff. Mondays and Thursdays volunteers are ready to chat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Personal Support:
Support people are volunteers who have received training and they have personal experience regarding living with HIV status.
The function of our support people is on basis of equality and voluntary work.
Support people are listeners and confidants.
Support people are bound to secrecy. You can get support via phone or on one-on-one gatherings.

Sexual counselling
Hiv Finland offers free of charge sexual counselling primarily to those living with HIV and their partners. In addition we offer complimentary advising for those experimenting challenges regarding the realization of their own sexuality. This can be either alone or with a partner.
Sexual counselling includes in general from two to five sessions.
Our advisors have received the necessary formation to give such advising.
We offer advice via face-to-face meetings, Skype or phone call.

Visiting premises and office
Our association is located in Helsinki downtown.
Our office it’s open for those living with HIV and their close ones on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
