Courses, camps and groups

Courses and camps

We organise annual professionally led courses for people living with HIV and their loved ones. The aim of the courses is to support the wellbeing of people living with HIV and their loved ones, and to find resources and peer support from other people living with HIV and their loved ones.

The courses include activities such as expert lectures and discussions based on them, relaxed guided exercise suitable for everyone, outdoor activities, and leisure time with peers. The content of the courses is always designed by people living with HIV together with Positiiviset ry HivFinland’s staff members. The courses will also be added to the event calendar on the website.

Discussion groups

Positiiviset ry HivFinland organises a variety of groups related to specific subjects or activities. Some groups meet throughout the year and you can join them when it suits you, others meet with the same group of people within a certain period of time.

Positiiviset ry HivFinland in Tampere, Oulu and Turku

Positiiviset ry HivFinland also tours the rest of Finland throughout the year. Peer meetings are places where you can freely come as you are and talk about what’s on your mind. Peer groups can discuss the latest news, focus on a topical issue, or just enjoy spending time together.

In addition to Helsinki, informal peer meetings are organised in at least Tampere, Turku, and Oulu. Peer meetings are also planned and organised with volunteers, so if you are interested in leading a group, you should attend a volunteer training course!

  • In Tampere, peer meetings are held about once per month, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
  • In Turku, peer meetings are organised 4 times per year from 5 pm to 7 pm.
  • In Oulu, 1–2 meetings are organised per year.
