HIV knows no borders – Hiv ei tunne rajoja

During Helsinki Pride Week, we’re going to host a panel discussion. Welcome to join us in the Pride House on Thursday 26th June at 14:00-15:30!

⁉️ In a time of regression, how do we keep advancing health and human rights? Are we undoing decades of progress in the fight against HIV?
📍 HIV is not just a medical issue – it is also a social and structural challenge. Vulnerabilities to HIV reflect not only biological factors but also deeper inequalities; social, structural and political.
📍 At the moment US funding cuts to HIV/AIDS programmes threaten treatment and care for many and conservative religious organisations and right-wing populists are gaining more and more ground in Europe.
👉 Positiiviset, HivFinland hosts a panel discussion on what happens when support to civil society and communities is compromised? And what happens if treatment is no longer available to all and right to health is no longer a shared value?

⭐️ Discussing in the panel discussion:
– Hassen Hnini, SOPU work, Loisto setlementti
– Jenny Tigerstedt, Hivpoint
– Jaana Kauppinen, Pro-tukipiste
– Ferenc Bagyinszky, AIDS Action Europe, Germany (online)
– Pavlo Smyrnov, Alliance for Public Health, Ukraine (online)
and from Positiiviset Sini Pasanen, who will also moderate the panel discussion.

Discussion will be in English.

You can also follow the discussion online via this link!

🎵💕 And what would a panel discussion be without music?
The Friends of Dorothy will perform right at 14:00! 🎵💕
