Healthcare Preparedness in the Nordic Region: How Prepared Are We?

Healthcare preparedness has received a lot of attention in recent years — and for good reason. The COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have demonstrated how vulnerable our societies can be without a comprehensive and inclusive preparedness system. The Nordic countries generally have strong welfare systems, well-functioning healthcare services, and a high level of trust between authorities and population. There is also no shortage of preparedness strategies — but how well prepared are we in the Nordic region, really, in case of an unforeseen crisis?

And, is there anything we can learn from Ukraine when it comes to managing large-scale crises — especially in terms of protecting vulnerable groups in society, such as people living with HIV and other chronic diagnosis?

HivNorway, Positiiviset/HivFinland, HivSweden, and the Ukrainian Alliance for Public Health invite you to a panel discussion where these questions will be discussed.

The project and the event is supported by The Nordic Council of Ministers.

Protecting Vulnerable Groups in Times of War Webinar

Ensi viikolla on mielenkiintoinen webinaari Protecting Vulnerable Groups in Times of War, jossa on mahdollisuus kuulla erityisesti hiville ja hepatiiteille haavoittuvassa asemassa olevien ihmisten palvelujen turvaamisesta Ukrainassa sodan alettua. 


Tervetuloa kuulolle 25. syyskuuta klo 17.00–18.15 (16:00–17:15 CET)!

Alliance for Public Health (Ukraina) tarjoaa terveyspalveluja haavoittuvassa asemassa oleville ihmisryhmille, jotka ovat erityisesti kärsineet sodan aiheuttamista vahingoista. Webinaarissa kuulemme heidän kokemuksistaan sekä innovatiivisista ratkaisuista palveluiden jatkamiseksi konfliktialueilla.

Tämä englanninkielinen webinaari on ensimmäinen osa syksyn 2025 ja kevään 2026 aikana järjestettävää webinaarisarjaa. Sarja toteutetaan osana Pohjoismaiden ministerineuvoston tukemaa projektia “Integrated Health Services in Times of War – Innovative Experiences from Ukraine”.

Webinaarin järjestävät yhteistyössä HivNorge, Positiiviset ry / HivFinland sekä Alliance for Public Health / Альянс Громадського здоровʼя (Ukraina).


Ilmoittaudu mukaan 24. syyskuuta klo 11 mennessä tästä.

Welcome to join us on 25 September from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. (4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. CET) for a webinar titled Protecting Vulnerable Groups in Times of War, which will provide an opportunity to hear about securing services for people who are particularly vulnerable to HIV and hepatitis in Ukraine. 

This webinar is the first in a series, which will be held in autumn 2025 and spring 2026, and is part of the project ‘Integrated Health Services in Times of War – Innovative Experiences from Ukraine’, supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The webinar is organised in cooperation with HivNorge, Positiiviset ry / HivFinland and Alliance for Public Health / Альянс Громадського здоровʼя (Ukraine).
